K100 RGB

The K100 with OPX switches is the best board Corsair has made: lubed, the OPX outclasses the Cherry and Akko switches they used before, and with foam it sounds like a premium custom.

Bought the K100 RGB (Cherry MX version) and is really happy with it, still adapting to the left-side macro keys.

Every key on their K100 pings, apparently from the aluminium plate resonating.

Their first K100 had a metallic ping on several keys; the replacement is better but 4 of 110 keys still ping, and they'll keep it rather than gamble again.

“I have got the new one and the replacement is better, however 4 out of 110 keyes can generate metallic ping sound.”

At first the K100's OPX switches had no feedback at actuation and they bottomed out until their fingers hurt; a year later they're used to them, though the WASD keycaps have worn smoother.

The K100's OPX switches are so light that a gust of wind registers a keystroke, and the board is loud for typing; fine only for gaming.

“OPX RGB is terriable for anything else but gaiming.”

Calls their K100 RGB with Cherry MX Speed switches an absolute work of art, even the wrist rest.

Would highly avoid the K100 RGB: a firmware update meant to fix it typing by itself left it freezing until unplugged and reconnected, making it unusable.

“With the new firmware however the keyboard will now completely freeze and has to be unplugged and reconnected for it to function again”

After failing to find a custom ISO board with a volume wheel and macro keys, they chose the K100 RGB OPX: better sound than expected, very good linear switches, and splendid typing that's faster than on their old MX Browns with no mistakes or double inputs.

“I have to say that the sound is better than expected, and the linear switches are very good.”

Their K100 disconnected until they disabled USB 3 XHCI hand-off in the BIOS; no disconnects since.

The Windows key laser on their K100 OPX died after about a year and a half; they returned it and bought the non-OPX version.

Never had a problem with the K100's optical switches; it's the best keyboard they've used.
